Analysis explores Teilhard de Chardin's view on continuous creation and metaphysics of growth in being.
The fundamental intuition of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin is his defense of the existence of a true progress, becoming, and growth of being. The union is constituted as the essential ground, not for the esse (to be), but for the plus esse (to be more), while the union is truly creative and produces a new growth of being. In this paper, I analyze how Teilhard de Chardin understands today the idea of continuous creation, developed by St. Thomas Aquinas in the thirteenth century by means of his concept of conservatio, in the light of current scientific discoveries.
