In this article, I present an approach for systematic planned practice that has been developed over the past several years and lately applied in a number of different services. Systematic planned practice is a framework that guides worker decision making at critical junctures of the treatment process, facilitates evaluation, and creates conditions for using professional knowledge in making practice decisions. The approach also provides a framework for case supervision and for enhancing professional accountability.
