Why the study?
Carpal tunnel syndrome is considered an early sign of cardiac amyloidosis, but the prevalence of concomitant cardiac amyloidosis in patients with tenosynovial amyloid deposition is unclear.

May support selective CA screening post-CTR in those with LVH; leaves open broader recommendations pending prospective data.
Concomitant cardiac amyloidosis is present in 5% of patients with amyloid deposition during carpal tunnel release, and in 50% of those who also have left ventricular hypertrophy and elevated hs-cTnT, suggesting targeted cardiac screening may be useful.
