Intervention
Nitrendipine (10 to 40 mg/d) as monotherapy or progressing to combination therapy with enalapril (5 to 20 mg/d) and/or hydrochlorothiazide (12.5 to 25 mg/d) to reduce sitting systolic blood pressure by at least 20 mm Hg to <150 mm Hg.
