The incompatibility between superior performance and poor quality sample preparation performance remains a drawback of ordinary mechanical meta-structures. By developing the elastomeric compression-torsion coupling theory, we establish a multi-objective integrated design strategy to design and fabricate the compression-torsion cubic mechanical meta-structures (CTCMSs) that achieve excellent properties of ultra-strength and high compression-torsion ratio. First, the design strategy combined with multi-objective optimization was proposed from performance and fabrication applications, which overcome the separation defect. Second, the use of transfer matrix method to examine the relationship between compression and torsion and find the effective elastic modulus and the compression-torsion ratio. Third, the fabrication and testing of the CTCMS to validate the design strategy and analyze the angular parameters with constraints. In situ, compression tests and optimization methods have shown that CTCMS with various angles of twist and compression strength outperforms existing CTCMSs. More strikingly, the strength reaches the theoretical limit when the folding angle reaches special values. The optimized CTCMS also had an extremely high strength of 18.7 MPa and an extremely large specific torsion angle of 10.2°, higher than the previous proposed CTCMS in the same volume space. Multi-objective integrated design strategies can improve other meta-structures’ design efficiency and fabrication quality.
