Peak strain, peak strain rate, Sm-SR, and Em-SR were significantly decreased in patients with atrial fibrillation compared to healthy controls, with the greatest reductions seen in the chronic atrial fibrillation group.
Patients with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation showed significantly lower peak systolic strain, strain rate, Em-SR, and Am-SR than healthy controls, despite displaying no significant differences in left atrial size or A-wave velocity.
