Tricuspid prosthetic valve Doppler assessment requires position-specific norms; extends mitral reference data but leaves open prospective validation.
What are the Doppler echocardiographic characteristics of normal and dysfunctioning prosthetic valves in the tricuspid and mitral positions?
The normal range of pressure half times for prosthetic valves in the mitral position is not applicable to the tricuspid position, and a pressure half time >200 ms with peak velocity >1.60 m/s indicates tricuspid obstruction.
