High plasma ACE activity (> 12 IU/L) measured 3.7 +/- 0.1 hours after onset of MI

Comparator

Low plasma ACE activity (<= 12 IU/L)

Outcome

Increase in left ventricular end-diastolic and end-systolic volume indexes assessed by two-dimensional echocardiography at 1-year follow-upsurrogate

Elevated plasma ACE activity measured shortly after acute MI independently predicts adverse left ventricular remodeling at 1 year.
