Why the study?
Coronary artery perforation is a rare, life-threatening complication of PCI whose risk may increase as interventionalists attempt more complex lesions.
This case series describes the management of coronary artery perforation, a rare but severe complication of complex percutaneous coronary interventions.
Case series of CAP management supports early recognition during complex PCI; leaves open optimal prevention strategies pending prospective data.
Coronary artery perforation (CAP) is a rare but life-threatening complication of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI), requiring early recognition and management. With the availability of new and better hardware and the use of new techniques, interventionalists tend to attempt complex lesions, which may increase the risk of this dreadful complication. We present a series of six cases of CAP and their management.
