Why the study?
Left bundle branch area pacing is a novel conduction system pacing modality, but its safety, success, and limitations in patients developing complete heart block after alcohol septal ablation for obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy were unreported.
Is left bundle branch area pacing safe and successful in a patient with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and complete heart block after alcohol septal ablation?
Is left bundle branch area pacing safe and successful in a patient with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and complete heart block after alcohol septal ablation?
This first reported case suggests that left bundle branch area pacing is a safe and feasible modality for managing complete heart block following alcohol septal ablation in patients with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
May support left bundle branch area pacing post-alcohol septal ablation in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; hypothesis-generating and requires prospective confirmation.
left bundle branch area pacing has emerged as a novel modality of conduction system pacing which is feasible and safe, with rare complications and a high success rate. In this article, we report the case of a woman with obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy who developed a complete heart block after an alcohol septal ablation procedure. To our knowledge, this is the first case report of this type of pacing in a patient. We want to show that this procedure is safe and can be successful, as well as the possible limitations in this scenario.
