Why the study?
Angiosarcoma of the oropharynx is extremely rare, carries a very poor prognosis especially with distant metastases, and lacks evidence-based clear treatment strategies.
Paclitaxel followed by pazopanib provided a progression-free survival of 6 months and overall survival of 17 months in a rare case of metastatic oropharyngeal angiosarcoma.
Offers preliminary support for paclitaxel-pazopanib in rare oropharyngeal angiosarcoma; leaves open need for prospective validation before practice change.
