Randomized trial evaluates antioxidant activity of herbal anti-aging cream in adults, indicating significant skin benefits.
AbstractThis study concentrates on the development and assessment of an antioxidant-enriched herbalanti-aging cream utilizing certain medicinal plant extracts. Skin aging is chiefly linked tooxidative stress induced by free radicals, resulting in wrinkles, diminished suppleness, and skindeterioration. Herbal substances including Aloe vera, green tea, turmeric, grape seed, pomegranate, and licorice were utilized to mitigate these effects, owing to their antioxidant andskin-protective attributes. An oil-in-water cream base was chosen for its non-greasycharacteristics and simplicity of application. Three formulations were developed and assessedfor physicochemical parameters, including pH, viscosity, spreadability, homogeneity, washability, skin irritation, antioxidant activity, and stability. All formulations exhibitedsatisfactory properties and favorable skin compatibility. Formulation F3 demonstrated superior antioxidant activity and enhanced overall performance. The research concludes that a herbal anti-aging cream can be successfully formulated employing natural substances with significant cosmetic potential.
