In this paper, the subject of Quantum key distribution (QKD) and its applications is addressed in a tutorial fashion. It is felt that a comprehensive treatment of this subject helps teachers to teach this in the Network security course and enable students to be familiar with the evolution of QKD and the current state-of-the-art in Post-Quantum cryptography.
