SynopsisThis survey critically evaluates the organisation, the reported long term effectiveness, and the future development of a Marriage Enrichment (ME) program evolved in New Zealand. Information from 73 mailed questionnaires and interview data from an additional 30 respondents is analysed with reference to course content, leadership, course format, and short as well as long term effects. Results indicate that the program is basically sound, with comprehensive content, competent leadership, appropriate organisation, and reported lasting effects. Shortcomings pertain especially to a lack of built-in experimental evaluation.Course alterations, experimental evaluation, program extension, and training developments are discussed.
