Summary: The case history of a 13-year-old boy with severe hypertension is described. On the basis of renal arteriography and estimations of plasma renin, a pre-operative diagnosis of a renin-secreting tumour was made. After the affected kidney was removed, the hypertension and the elevated plasma renin fell to normal.
