Two novel trimetallic nanocluster complexes, {Mo VI 6 Mo V 2 V IV 8 O 40 (PO 4 )[Co(phen) 2 (H 2 O)] 2 }[Co 2 (phen) 2 (OH) 2 (H 2 O) 4 ] 1/2 ( 1 ) (phen = 1,10‘-phenanthroline) and {Mo VI 5 Mo V 3 V IV 8 O 40 (PO 4 )[Co(phen)(en)(H 2 O)] 2 }[Co(phen) 3 ] ·1.5H 2 O ( 2 ) (phen = 1,10‘-phenanthroline, en = ethylenediamine), which are the first examples of mixed molybdenum−vanadium polyoxoanion bridged cluster complexes, have been hydrothermally prepared and characterized by X-ray crystallography.
