Why the study?

Population
15 healthy subjects
Comparison
Head-down rotation (HDR) vs Baseline (before HDR)

Uniform MSNA rises during HDR produce greater calf than forearm vasoconstriction; hypothesis-generating for regional sympathetic control and should not yet change practice.
Does head-down rotation alter arm and leg MSNA and vascular resistance in healthy subjects?
Head-down rotation increases both arm and leg muscle sympathetic nerve activity similarly, but produces greater vasoconstriction in the calf than the forearm, suggesting compensatory vasodilation in other vascular beds to maintain blood pressure.
