The component fatty acids of phosphatides present in soya beans and in rape seeds were determined In both cases linoleic acid was found to be the predominating component, although all the acids present in the respective seed glycerides were also observed, to a greater or less extent, in the corresponding seed phosphatides; palmitic acid formed a greater proportion of the phosphatide than of the corresponding seed glyceride acids in both instances studied.
