Highlights EDRF opposition to myogenic tone in mesenteric arteries; leaves open translation to human microvascular perfusion.
Myogenic responses in small mesenteric arteries are effectively opposed by shear-induced release of EDRF, which may maintain adequate tissue perfusion during simultaneous increases in pressure and shear stress.
