A cross‐shaped microstrip‐fed ring slot antenna with large bandwidth is presented experimentally in this paper. The characteristics of the antenna are sensitive to the antenna design parameters. The VSWR, radiation pattern, and antenna gain of this configuration are presented. The measured bandwidth is approximately 77.766% (2.0 ≥ VSWR).
