In an attempt to evaluate teaching performance and to improve instruction in a teacher education cur riculum course, Teaching in the Secondary School, a study was initiated two years ago. Its purpose was to determine the instructional weaknesses and strengths of the course, to find out the specific teaching behaviors which students liked and disliked, and to solicit from the students spe cific recommendations which they felt would promote greater teacher effectiveness and improve learning.
