Presents an extension of the theoretical model of Harris et al. (1974) to describe the magnetic properties of DyCo 3.4 alloys. The d band is treated in terms of a Hubbard Hamiltonian and the Dy moments, which are coupled with the d band through a local exchange interaction, are subject to a random anisotropy. The Hamiltonian is treated in the mean field approximation. A fit of the magnetization against temperature curve of DyCo 3.4 is presented and the magnetization curves of DyNi 3.4 and DyFe 3.4 are discussed in the light of the same theoretical model.
