Inflammatory mediators may drive endothelial procoagulant activity in endocarditis; leaves open direct bacterial role and human translation.
Endothelial cells may contribute to fibrin deposition during infective endocarditis if stimulated by inflammatory mediators, but not directly by bacteria, while stromal cells constitutively express high procoagulant activity.
