Three-Dimensional Organic/Inorganic Composite Materials: Hydrothermal Synthesis and Structural Characterization of the Open-Framework Oxovanadium Borophosphate [H3NCH2CH2NH3]2[(VO)5(H2O){O3POB(O)2OPO3}2]·1.5H2O

The hydrothermal reaction of NaVO3, BPO4, ethylenediamine, CuCl2·2H2O, and water yields the open-framework material [H3NCH2CH2NH3]2[(VO)5(H2O){O3POB(O)2OPO3}2]·1.5H2O, VOBOPO-1. The framework, constructed from binuclear {V2O10}, mononuclear {VO(H2O)O4}, and {O3POB(O)2OPO3}7- building blocks, provides channels occupied by the (H3NCH2CH2NH3)2+ cations and water molcules of crystallization.
