Effects of pressure on Raman-active phonons and distortion of [ZnCl4]2− ions in the Cs2[ZnCl4] crystal

Pressure dependences of frequencies and Raman intensities of the zone center metal–ligand modes in Cs2[ZnCl4] crystal have been measured and are discussed on the basis of the results from the approximate frequency and intensity calculations. The pressure effect on the distortion of the [ZnCl4]2− ions and the mode anharmonicities have also been studied. The main conclusions are given in Sec. IV of the paper.
