This study illustrates the effectiveness of a self-instruction procedure on the vocational skills of four individuals who are severely retarded. Results showed that the self-instruction procedure led to a marked increase in the subjects’ work production rates and a concommitant decrease in the number of errors made. The implications of the findings are discussed.
