Experimental study demonstrates enhanced electrochemical capacitance and stability in aluminium vanadate-polypyrrole nanocomposites, indicating strong potential for supercapacitor energy storage.
The demand for developing nanostructured electrode materials for upcoming generations rises due to the extreme usage of fossil fuels. Green energy storage technologies, such as supercapacitors, provide considerable economic benefits. They have a long lifespan and high power density. In the future, the supercapacitor has been proposed as an energy storage device for applications that require increased capacity. The integration of conducting polymers with AlV 3 O 9 could provide significant electrochemical activity in a supercapacitor application. We interested to integrate the polypyrrole (Ppy) with AlV 3 O 9 nanocomposite were prepared by hydrothermal method. The formation of pure AlV 3 O 9 and AlV 3 O 9 /Ppy is confirmed with XRD studies. The structural morphology and the elemental composition are validated with TEM, SEM and EDX imaging. The specific capacitance of AlV 3 O 9 and AlV 3 O 9 /Ppy composite is evaluated to be 546 and 1094 F/g at 1 A/g, respectively, based on galvanostatic charge-discharge results. The presence of transition metal oxides and the high specific surface area of AlV 3 O 9 /Ppy nanocomposites all contribute to improved electrochemical efficiency. The structural constancy of materials was proven by its electrochemical stability after 5000 cycles and the capacitance retention was 96%. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy investigation revealed that AlV 3 O 9 /Ppy had a lower charge transfer resistance. AlV 3 O 9 /Ppy nanocomposites-based electrodes have improved electrochemical characteristics, making them a promising choice for next-generation energy storage devices.
