The space amplitude and intensity correlations of a partially developed laser speckle pattern produced in the far-field region have been theoretically studied. The statistical properties are analysed for speckle amplitude of Gaussian statistics. It is shown that the non-circularity of the speckle statistics exhibits the difference in spatial behaviour of space correlation of the real and imaginary parts of amplitude. The non-circularity of the speckle statistics does not influence the visibility of Young's fringes but is evident in the spatial intensity correlation.
