The article develops a comprehensive methodological framework for assessing the readiness of digital enterprises to implement artificial intelligence technologies. The research is particularly relevant in the context of accelerating digital transformation, where enterprises face significant challenges in successfully integrating AI into their business processes. The study aims to address the critical gap in existing methodologies by proposing a multi-dimensional assessment approach specifically tailored for digital enterprises. The methodology combines systematic analysis of existing assessment models with the development of a new integrated framework that considers technological, organizational, human, and ethical-legal dimensions of AI readiness. The research identifies significant limitations in current methodological approaches, including their narrow focus on isolated aspects of readiness and inadequate consideration of the specific needs of digital enterprises, particularly in the Ukrainian context. The study proposes a multi-aspect model that integrates four key dimensions: technological infrastructure readiness, organizational strategy alignment, human resource competency development, and ethical-legal compliance. Each dimension includes 4–6 specific indicators, evaluated on a five-point scale from initial to optimized level. The developed readiness matrix enables enterprises to diagnose their current state comprehensively and identify critical limitations across all dimensions. The research highlights the interconnected nature of the dimensions, demonstrating how advanced technological infrastructure (level 4–5) requires corresponding development in organizational processes (minimum level 3–4) and human competencies (minimum level 4) to be effectively utilized. The practical value of the research lies in providing digital enterprises with a systematic tool for self-assessment before investing in AI technologies, potentially reducing implementation failures and unjustified investments. The proposed methodological framework can be particularly valuable for Ukrainian digital enterprises operating under challenging economic conditions while pursuing integration with European digital markets. The study contributes to the theoretical understanding of technological readiness assessment and offers a practical framework that can be further developed into specific assessment instruments for different types and sizes of digital enterprises.
