Over 270 cases have been reported in the world literature (2). The disease is diagnosed postmortem more frequently than antemortem and is still considered by many to be nearly uniformly fatal with no effective treatment (3-5). However, a small number of patients have been reported who have survived after treatment with corticosteroids and splenectomy (6).The purpose of this report is to report three additional patients treated with massive hormonal therapy and splenectomy....References1.
