Animal study demonstrates trial-aligned correlations between invasive Neuropixels metrics and surface EEG during cortical stimulation in mice, highlighting potential cross-scale electrophysiology...
This preprint tests whether Neuropixels-derived population summaries covary with surface EEG features during cortical stimulation in head-fixed mice. Across 24 sessions from 23 mice, two nominally trial-aligned associations were identified: LFP standard deviation with EEG standard deviation, and spike rate with EEG spectral entropy. Both survived predefined sensitivity analyses and subject-level null controls. Cross-modal alignment remained unvalidated, artifact and common-driver controls were incomplete, and the exploratory state contrast does not establish causality or mechanism.
