Summary This paper describes measurements of the energy, angular and frequency distributions of protons and alpha-particles in disintegrations of the silver and bromine nuclei of nuclear emulsions, at excitation energies comparable with and larger than the binding energy (∼700 MeV.). Only those charged particles with ionization greater than six times minimum have been considered (i.e. greater than that of a 50 MeV. proton). The star disintegrations were observed in Ilford C2 plates, 100 μ thick, exposed at Jungfraujoeh (3457 m.).
