SUMMARY An efficient and accurate scheme for the determination of flux distribution along a finite conductivity fracture is proposed. Higher order interpolation functions are utilized to solve the integral equation. Use of higher order functions requires one to account for the singularities of the fracture tip and the well. The concept and use of discontinuous and partially discontinuous boundary elements is shown to account for these singularities. The proposed method can be used for other semi-analytical solution schemes.
