In recent papers,1,2optimal diagnostic procedures are presented for some special cases. In this paper, we present an optimal diagnostic procedure under a different restriction, i.e., we consider equipment in which elements can only be tested one at a time, or all at once. Optimality is in the sense of minimum expected cost.
