Three-dimensional TEE is highly effective in defining the morphologic appearance and attachment of left atrial masses in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy.
May refine left atrial mass evaluation in select cases; leaves open confirmation in larger hypertrophic cardiomyopathy cohorts.
Mini‐Abstract We present a case of a 57‐year‐old man with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and an incidental finding of a left atrial mass. The case highlights the use of multimodality imaging to help characterize the mass. These included cardiac MRI, transthoracic echocardiography, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) with three‐dimensional imaging. The use of three‐dimensional TEE best defined the morphologic appearance and attachment of the mass.
