The preparation procedure and the properties of copper-modified SBN single crystals are reported. Compared with the plain SBN crystals, copper-modified crystals have stable hysteresis loops, lower ageing rate of piezoelectric constant, higher pyroelectric coefficient and a more diffuse phase transition.
