The Hall coefficient, mobility and thermoelectric power of HgTe have been measured in the intrinsic conductivity range. The experimental results are interpreted in terms of the simple parabolic model of the conduction band. The values of the forbidden gap and effective mass of electrons have been estimated. They are Eg < 0.0003 eV and mn = 0.02 m0, respectively. The electron—hole and optical scattering mechanisms are the most probable in HgTe in the intrinsic range.
