SUMMARYDetailed karyomorphology of twelve species of Fritillaria from Greece has been studied. Although the karyotype of eleven out of the twelve species showed general uniformity, consisting of 4 V-type chromosomes and 20 I (rod)-type, recognizable differences were noticed in a few marker chromosomes. The data derived from cytological findings are more or less in agreement with those from morphology and confirm previously known relationships.
