Why the study?
The study was informed by the need to use the Microneutralization test to assess neutralizing antibodies to the three serotypes of polioviruses among vaccinated children aged 1-15 years.
Less than half of vaccinated children in the studied Nigerian cohort had simultaneous neutralizing antibodies against all three poliovirus serotypes, highlighting the need for new strategies to increase comprehensive immunity.
