The authors suggest adding tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy as an exclusion criterion for the Mayo criteria of transient left ventricular apical ballooning.

Some adjustments have been made in comparison with the previously proposed criteria by Abe and Kondo (2). In our opinion, it would be appropriate to add tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy as an exclusion criterion, if the primary form of the syndrome is to be diagnosed.Reversible left ventricular dysfunction after an episode of ventricular tachycardia has been reported (3).
