THE caudal block, a frequently applied anesthetic technique in children, has a low incidence of complications. 1 Severe infections of the epidural space and associated structures rarely occur and have only been described when using continuous epidural catheterization. 2,3 We report a case of sacral osteomyelitis after single-shot epidural anesthesia via the caudal approach.
