One by Malawista and Seegmiller represents a further study on the role of crystals of sodium urate in the pathogenesis of the acute attack, and of the effect of colchicine upon the inflammatory process. A second paper by Kaplan, Bernstein, Wallace, and Halberstam reports the presence of hyperamino-acidemia in hyperuricemic subjects and raises some questions concerning the fundamental metabolic disturbance of primary gout. A third paper by Gonick, Rubini, Gleason, and Sommers adds to our knowledge and mystery about the nature of the renal complications of gout. A...References1. HALL A: Personal communication, 1964.
