The authors report the preliminary results of transient photoinduced absorption (PA) experiments on the polymer of 2,4-hexadiyn-1,6-di-p-toluenesulphonate (PTS). The PA spectrum consists of a single sharp peak at 1.4 eV. The recombination dynamics are dominated by a single exponential decay process with a time constant which is unusually long and insensitive to temperature.
