Trauma to the anterior teeth and loss of teeth is a common presentation in hazardous professions. Conventional rehabilitation involves artificial dentures which are tooth retained or implant supported. Extraction of the maxillary anterior teeth routinely presents the loss of buccal cortical bone, leading to reduced residual ridge width, inhibiting implant placement in such conditions. Guided bone regeneration using autologous bone graft for horizontal augmentation of residual ridge width is a time-tested surgical technique.
