The isolation of a C20‐steroid lactone from hog adrenals and its structural elucidation as 3‐oxo‐11β,18‐dihydroxy‐Δ4‐etienic acid lactone‐(20→18) is described. From the same source 11β‐hydroxyprogesterone, 11‐ketoprogesterone, and 17‐iso‐aldosterone have been obtained for the first time.
