The abstract is truncated and does not report the results regarding the frequency of cancer in patients with Tako-tsubo cardiomyopathy.
This letter highlights a potential association between Tako-Tsubo cardiomyopathy and cancer, suggesting that cancer-related physical or psychological stress may trigger the syndrome.

Although TTC is most prevalent in postmenopausal women presenting with acute emotional or physical stress, the underlying pathophysiologic mechanism is not fully understood. Cancer is accompanied by increased psychological stress and elevated sympathetic nervous tone. Thus, it might trigger TTC in susceptible persons. Indeed, we recently found significantly more cases of cancer in 50 patients with TTC than in age- and sex-matched control participants presenting with acute anterior myocardial infarction (3).Objective: To determine the frequency of cancer ...References1.
