The origin of the exponent theory of random conductors is traced to the properties of the renormalisation transformation. The exponent theory is extended to the case of complex conductors (as in AC circuit theory) and certain cases of tensor-values conductivity (as in the thermoelectric effect, but excluding magnetoconductivity and spatial anisotropy effects).
