The essential oils of fresh Lippia alba and Cornutia odorata leaves from Peruvian Amazon were isolated by hydrodistillation and analyzed by a combination of GC and GC/MS. Twenty-nine and twenty-two components have been identified, accounting for 96.3% and 999% of the respective oils. The major constituents of the L. alba oil were found to be carvone (63.4%), germacrene D (5.6%) and limonene (5.1%). The C. odorata oil consisted mainly of (E)-nerolidol (38.6%), sabinene (194%) and terpinen-4-ol (10.4%).
