Key result
Administration of 25 to 35 units/kg of 3-factor prothrombin complex concentrate and 1 to 3 units of fresh frozen plasma ceased rivaroxaban-associated subdural bleeding without thrombogenic complications.

Does 3-factor prothrombin complex concentrate and fresh frozen plasma prevent progression of subdural bleeding in patients on rivaroxaban?
In a small case series, the administration of 3-factor prothrombin complex concentrate and fresh frozen plasma halted rivaroxaban-associated subdural bleeding without causing thrombogenic complications.
Faust et al. (2016) conducted a case report in Subdural bleeding associated with rivaroxaban (n=3). 3-factor prothrombin complex concentrate (PCC3) and fresh frozen plasma (FFP) was evaluated on Progression in lesions measured by repeat computed tomography (CT). Administration of 25 to 35 units/kg of 3-factor prothrombin complex concentrate and 1 to 3 units of fresh frozen plasma ceased rivaroxaban-associated subdural bleeding without thrombogenic complications.
