A device based on a multilayer film of gadolinium bysphthalocyanine (GdPc2) built with the Langmuir-Blodgett technique has been tested as a NOX (NO2/N2O4) gas detector. The material was deposited on a gold electrode and the changes in the electrical properties of the film when exposed to the gas were recorded. The kinetics of the gas adsorption and desorption processes, as well as the reversibility of the response, were studied as a function of the operating temperature (293 K to 398 K.)
